a couple buiolds back it seemed a feature was implemented that was very helpful, and now it is gone. Â
some of my sessions are simply to open a terminal window into the Mac OSX prompt and I enter my own commands, ssh etc..Â
when an ssh session disconnects i just go back to my term prompt and can still acroll back.
I hae other profiles which log directly to servers due to long ssh commands.. if one of those goes defunct, the window closes and all the ascroll back data is lost. for a short while when one of those sessions closed, iterm told me the ssh had disconnected and i had 2 redlines on the screen at the point where it died.. I also had the option to restart the session.. when I restarted, then all my scroll data was preserved.. how do I get that behaviour to be the norm for those certain profile entries? as of lately its back to the old ways where the window just disappears if I lose the ssh..
I want to keep the tab open until I close it. sometimes these sessions are parts of a screen split layout I dont want to rebuild each time I lose one..
I work remotely on Cellular quite a bit so disconnects happen..
