[iterm2-discuss] How to auto-enter password?

I've noticed in the recent 3.1.2 betas that password prompts have a small
key icon next to them. When this happens, is there a way to auto-enter one
of my passwords?

I know that I can *<option>-<command>-F* to open the password manager
dialog, type some characters from the password name, then press return. But
I would really like this to happen automatically.

If that's not possible, is there a way to assign a single keyboard shortcut
to that sequence?

TIA

Set up a trigger in your profile that looks for the password prompt and
have the action bring up the password manager. In the parameter field for
the trigger select the name of the password you want to use. Now when
iTerm2 sees the password prompt it will bring up the password manager and
automatically select (but not send) the password. You can just hit
Enter/Return to send the selected password.

Set up profiles for the different hosts you use so you can use the same
prompt to select different passwords, if needed.
