Hi all,

I'd like to suggest an RFE for iterm2.

IMHO the "Triggers" editing UI would be substantially improved if the font
was fixed-width.

See attached screenshot for an example.

Best,

Kenny

Triggers is easy enough to change but smart selection will be a larger
project because it doesn't use view-based table views. I've opened an issue
to track this: https://gitlab.com/gnachman/iterm2/issues/6494

Thanks George.

iTerm is a truly fantastic application.

The highlighting I've set up with these triggers is truly game changing for
comprehension of everything outside vi.

I agree! iTerm is great!

Would you mind sharing your triggers or how you're using them? Your
application may trigger ideas in others.

Hi Richard,

I pasted an example to the recent thread

[iterm2-discuss] Possible to clear last line or highlight commands ?

The screenshot shows a good example of in-terminal highlighting which is so
incredibly useful for me.

For example, it've escape sequences highlighted slightly lighter colour, so
strings with escape sequences are readable. Regex, of course, highlighted,
and looking at email headers is much better when the dates and other
relevant parts of the header are highlighted.

Then there's 404 as red, 200 as green, etc and HTTP GET and POST in
different colours, etc.

Most useful is something I've seen another iterm user do, which is
highlighting orders of magnitude. No more counting number of zeros on the
command line looking at byte counts!

I'll try to post more examples and include more regex in the future.

Best,

Kenny
